Knee Pain Treatment in Mississauga

Knee pain on the stairs, after a run, or first thing when you stand can be slow to shift even with rest. The knee is caught between the hip and the ankle, so how it tracks depends heavily on what is happening above and below it.

  • Pain on stairs, squatting, or standing up after sitting
  • An ache around or behind the kneecap that rest has not fixed
  • Stiffness after a run or a long walk that lingers the next day
  • A sense the knee gives way, catches, or does not feel stable
  • Pain on one side only that came on without a clear injury
  • Hip or ankle symptoms that seem connected to the knee
  • An old sprain or surgery that changed how the leg loads

The knee is a hinge caught between the hip above and the ankle below, so how both of those move is assessed alongside the joint itself. When the hip or foot is not doing its job, the knee is often the part left to absorb the twist, which is where the pain shows up. Treatment works with what the assessment finds up and down the leg rather than the knee in isolation.

Most people notice stairs and standing feel easier within the first few sessions. The number of visits depends on how long the leg has been loading unevenly. A typical course is three to six sessions, with a reassessment each visit to keep the plan on track.
